Classification Of Laser Arc Composite Welding
The welding method of using arc heat as a heat source is called "arc welding".
In arc welding, a positive voltage is applied to the electrode (welding
rod or wire) and a negative voltage is applied to the base metal. This
will generate an arc from the base material to the electrode.
Submerged arc welding is not easily affected
In principle, the traditional welding method of submerged arc welding,
which can only be welded manually, is also known as "manual welding".
Covered
arc welding is a type of electrode consumption (electrode melting) arc
welding method, which uses a metal rod (covered arc welding rod) of the
same material as the base material as the electrode and the arc formed
between the core wire and the base material as the heat source. The gas
generated by the core wire coating and the glassy welding slag cover the
dissolved metal for welding. The protective layer composed of the gas
and welding slag, as well as the formation of a coverage area at the top
of the welding rod, have the advantage of not being easily affected by
wind and other conditions at the welding site.
Low operating cost of plasma welding
Plasma welding is a welding method that generates a plasma arc between
the electrode and the base material, and uses it for welding. It belongs
to the non electrode consumable welding method, which, like TIG
welding, uses a tungsten rod as the electrode. Its characteristic is
that it can use a nozzle that covers the electrode and plasma gas to
gather the arc and prevent diffusion.
Good
heat collection and neutrality can achieve welding with narrow,
high-speed, and low distortion welds. High arc directionality, suitable
for fillet welding without sputtering. Low electrode consumption allows
for long-term high-quality welding. Although the price of this welding
machine itself is higher than that of TIG welding machine, its operating
cost is lower. This is also one of the most suitable welding methods
for automatic welding.
Gas electric vertical welding (EGW) has good welding effect
Gas electric vertical welding (EGW) is developed for achieving thick
plate welding with high power and stable integration in the vertical
direction, and belongs to the electrode consumption welding
method. In most cases, EGW uses carbon dioxide gas as a protective gas,
but sometimes pure argon, argon carbon dioxide mixture, argon oxygen
mixture, and argon helium mixture are also used. Welding wires often use
flux wires that can form welding slag and have a beautiful weld
appearance, but sometimes solid core wires are also used. Welding power
sources usually use DC voltage stabilizing characteristic power sources
or DC current stabilizing (drooping) characteristic power sources.
Surrounding
the molten pool with base metal end and copper lining or refractory
lining material can prevent molten metal from dripping while conducting
upward vertical welding, thus enabling thick plate welding in a single
pass (single operation).
Its advantages include the use of high current, faster deposition speed,
and the ability to perform high-power welding. At the same time, due to
small angular deformation, it has a relatively large margin compared to
groove accuracy. Its uses include welding vertical joints on ship side
panels, bridge construction, storage tanks, pressure vessels, and other
vertical directions.
